About Me

David Eric (DE) Navarro is the founder of NavWorks Press and the originator of the Pride in Poetry Prize and Pride in Poetry book series. He was born in Newport, Rhode Island, but grew up in inner city Chicago until age 10 then moved to northern Indiana, first in rural Crown Point to age 15, and then suburban Munster until he went off to college at Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana.

His love of poetry and the writing arts began at age 8 and in 1980 he became a published poet in the Purdue Exponent. Hundreds of his poems, articles and essays have since been published in various magazines, publications, literary journals, anthologies, and online. DE lives in the Greater Los Angeles area where he continues to be an avid author, poet, editor, publisher, speaker and minister.

DE has worked in the writing and editing field for over thirty years.  He runs active poetry forums and mentors new writers and poets, helping them to add power and punch to their work.  He runs a critique forum and a prompt and challenge forum.  Find out more about both forums HERE

DE's newest book is Dare to Soar, an amazing collection of powerful and readable poetry that takes the reader on an epic journey through 151 poems and 12 essays that explore life, the world, humanity, self, the city, country, nature, people, society, and spirituality.

Please check out DE's author/poet website and consider reading some of his work. You can purchase books and things in the Curio bookshop or become a supporter / patron of NavWorks Press' work to promote poetry and the writing arts in English worldwide. Supporters and donors will be listed in newly published books unless they opt to withhold.

Thank you for promoting poetry and the writing arts in English worldwide.

I'm totally curious how that Cub Pack 36 showed up under my "Site Memberships" above. That is spooky. Any idea?

I sent you a myspace message that should shed some light.
