The north wind brings its winter chill

But your love for me is colder still

Again last night no text or call

No soft words to cushion my fall

I’m hardening my heart as best I can

I remind myself you want another man

I need to face the facts and stick to my( leave you alone) plan

I wouldn’t feel so bad and much more a man.

But when we’re gone

It’ll be the end of my life’s favourite son...

You died loving me

Yet your body and soul still walks this earth

Your texts fill the air

But no matter how hard I reach

You are never there.

You died loving me

That thought is the only one that keeps me free

From the anger and hate that could engulf me

Should I swap this dream for the reality

You died loving me

You died in my arms

Like in the black and white movie, we once did see

All around com...

Come what may

She stumble's across the floor,

Glass in hand,

Like a fledgling fawn, baying,

Her obscenities!

At the injustice of her world

To her dead mother pleading past comfort and shelter.

"Hit the road Jack"

Finishes' her drunken verbal attack.

The fawn baying louder still,

For in this world she shudders - a defenceless chill.

Weeping through the sum of her fears

This, the summation of her formative...

Now and Then

Toasting Bread

In the ambers of the fire

Flooded back memories I most desire

Of times past spent

When my now departed parents paid the rent.

The glowing room

Now littered with toys

Which not long past

Extracted great yelps of joy

I know they have seen this

When I was their little little boy.

She now sleeps

On hearing her song

They hummed along with me

Though I may w...

The Conversation (between man and nature)

I talk to the wind

And it talks to me

We speak of things past

And things yet to be

At times she brings calmness

When under duress

Blows away cobwebs

Clears out the stress

She wraps me in her arms

Knows me the best

Her power is awesome

Don't put it to the test.

And so the conversation goes....

"God it cold"

Yes I know for I've made it so.

Fragmented pieces.

Show me the doctor who can mend a broken heart

And if they are renowned, their medicine, I will follow, right from the start.

How can they stitch together what has been blown apart

Fragmented pieces, needing an ER’s surgeons work of art.

Have you found them yet? for I’m dying slow

Is this not a very good case, for that Dr House show?

Will even his team ever know

How, from the fragmented pieces, a new heart, to grow.

I sit and hope

Maybe wish

That you are sitting

Maybe wishing.

The Visit

Stepping into her world with bated breath,

like a cowering, coward before his vexed master.

awaiting her judgement in an unjust world.

I knock.

the vibrant living colours around me, only serving to make me seem bland, dead.

dead to the world they enrich with their scent and beauty, that,

she has nurtured from seed to fulfil her life, her creed.

I knock.

the high noon sun cannot wa...

Before another flood

This is a world now

More complex than space

Time running out  here

For the human race

Innovative products and services

Being pushed in your face

Nobody giving a shit

It's a fucking disgrace.

Mans great conquests

His great deeds

Their cumulative effect?

To bring us to our knees

Through their building and cruising

Leaving nowhere to breath

Leaving us nothing to reflect on

Because of ...

Mum - 20 year anniversary

20 years of

No holding hands

No kisses on the forehead

No hugs, No commands

Yet you are there

In the very air that sustains us

In the laughter of the child that entertains us

In the challenges we face day to day

Your presence is there - come what may.

You laid our foundations strong and true

We hope what they see - is credit to you.

We hope what they feel is your warming grace

We pray, you are reflected in ...
