I am thinking of renaming this challenge the Sunday SYNONYM/ANTONYM Challenge.  ---  No, seriously, I am...   Reason being, I just think that writing a poem around a central word-based theme is a great way to teach or encourage anyone wanting to write MORE, to choose that one feeling, that one burning thought, and create an entire poem around it, using the guidance of the Thesaurus.

Turning Leaves

Summer ends,

the warming heat cooled by Autumn’s breath—

turning leaves of vibrant green

into Nature’s canvas of livid color,

reds, orange, browns and yellow

explode to the ground as confetti on New Years eve.

 

 

And with an intoxicating smell

some say of cinnamon,

a perfect pillow of tranquility cradles your body

as the cirrus pass swiftly by, waving

creating shadows on your bare stomach.
