A Dream in Winter

In the dream, curtains were drawn back,

Snow blue and deep before the moon

On the other side of the glass, chill

Wind twisted, with lights in the distance,

From the dark room behind me,

where you lay, wrapped in silk;

“This is a dream,” I said to you,

“None of it is real.”

Stop hating yourself out there,

Let it be a part of you, love.

Little Sister

She said it was unclear,

The source of all those emotions

How they lift her up,

Let her down...

Was it the things her daddy said?

I knew it, but could tell her no more

A man's words were more like knives

Unskilled tongue...

How could he let her do that?

The way she cuts herself inside...

She said it was unfair,

The course of all those decisions

To lift her head up,

Cast her dow...

The Bad Man (A Rock Song)

Posted by Aerocastle on October 22, 2009 at 10:52 PM Comments comments (2)

Look in the mirror

He's got blood on his walls

Switchblade dreams in his brain

Spiraling down the drain

He's the bad man now

BAD MAN NOW

He's going to Hell

And doesn't give a damn

The writing's on the walls

And blood spirals down the drain

Spirals in his brain

He's the bad man now

BAD MAN NOW

ALL THE MISTAKES I'VE MADE

(Writing's on the wall)

ALL THE LIFE I ...

Famous or Infamous

The choices seem clear enough, between the best and the worst;

Walk around in shackles or with a decadent halo upon my brow;

Everybody’s hero, or worst enemy, because you are all dicks;

The drums are pounding in my head as I scream dissent;

The same fire that burns in the lungs of mass-murderers,

Is the very same fire that pushes back when others would quit;

Those flames could save a life in a squad car, or destroy it

From atop a bell tower on a...

Mad Man

The life of a mad man,

Tweedle-dum-dee-dum,

When the shadows come,

And there is nothing left

But the man in the mirror and I.

"Mirror, mirror, on my shelf,"

I say, "Who is more brilliant,

More devilish than myself?"

And the mirror offers

Only silence as reply

The axe is spraying blood

Up the staircase rail.

Women cry and men

Gurgling their death wail!

Crows at the windowpane ...

Fatal Drive

City lights and farm lane roads

Passing by unacknowledged in the night

Flying unto the brink of empty endings

Nightmare ghosts suffocating in the speed

Accelerator jammed to the floor

Chilly winds coming through the window

Nothing on the radio, static cacophony

Rambling, gambling and the wager is mortality

No rest in the drone of undying dreams

Haunting inhibitions at terminal velocity

Smoke and lapping flam...

The Engineer's Lament: A Finale

O' Child, the fever has gripped you

Blindness has turned your eyes to black,

And your curses are lost in your wails,

Your tongue rots and coils in your throat.

You no longer find comfort in my songs

As we stand here on the brink of oblivion,

Sown together with ethereal thread, my will,

And blood drips into the abyss.

You have driven me mad, O' Child

Though how can I punish you

For the symptoms of your malady
